Footing, Core and Stone

A new stoop starts with a footing below frost depth. We build the core in block and concrete, then cap the top and treads with thick stone and face the sides with stone veneer.

We keep every riser the same height and the landing big enough for the storm door to swing, so it meets code and feels right to walk up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you cover my existing concrete stoop with stone?

If the stoop is solid and not pulling away from the house, yes. We set a stone cap on the top and treads and veneer on the sides. If it has settled, we rebuild it.
