Concrete Driveways

Thick enough for the truck, jointed so it cracks where we want it to.

What Goes Into a Driveway That Lasts

We break out and haul away the old driveway, dig to firm soil and put down a compacted stone base. The slab goes in at the thickness the load calls for, with reinforcement and control joints cut at the right spacing so any shrinkage cracks follow the joints instead of running across the drive.

We pitch the surface so water runs off toward the street or a drain and not toward the garage. Most driveways get a broom finish for grip in wet and icy weather.

Driveway aprons at the street are not part of our work.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you pour the apron at the street?

No. We pour the driveway up to the apron. The apron in the public right of way needs its own permit, and we can point you to who does that work.

How soon can I drive on a new driveway?

Walk on it after a day or two. Keep cars off for about a week and heavy trucks off for about a month while the concrete gains strength.

Have a Driveway, Patio or Stone Project in Mind?
