What Holds a Wall Up

Every retaining wall we build sits on a footing sized for the height and the soil. Behind the wall goes clean gravel and a perforated drain pipe, so rain soaking into the hill drains away instead of pushing on the stone.

The wall itself can be solid stone or a block core faced with stone veneer and topped with a stone cap. Low sitting walls around a patio are built the same way.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do retaining walls lean?

Most walls fail from water pressure behind them or a weak footing. We give every wall a solid footing and gravel and a drain pipe behind it so water gets out.
